I'm James Afshar (E-RYT), and I warmly invite you to join me for an unforgettable week-long yoga retreat in Costa Rica's stunning mountains. Set for 2026, this carefully crafted experience blends daily yoga practice with the natural beauty and pura vida spirit that makes Costa Rica so special.
Our retreat home sits beautifully on 8 acres at 5,000 feet above sea level, surrounded by lush coffee plantations with breathtaking views of Costa Rica's Central Valley. Despite feeling worlds away from everyday life, we're just twenty minutes from Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO), making your journey as smooth as possible.
Over 8 days and 7 nights, you're invited to partake in energizing morning Vinyasa sessions and peaceful evening Restorative/Yin practices in our dedicated yoga shala. Large windows frame the valley views, creating an inspiring backdrop for your practice as you deepen your connection with both yoga and nature.

There are eight types of room styles, which are scattered about the meticulously landscaped grounds of the Retreat Center, each designed to delight your viewing pleasure with either a lush garden view rich in foliage, or an epic view of the Central Valley. These range from three charming suites with wraparound porches, one gorgeous and newly renovated villa, as well as stylish room options and A-Frame cottages.

Meals: Starting with dinner on the night of your arrival, and ending with breakfast on the day of your departure, we will have three daily meals, wonderfully prepared and served, providing you ample time in the morning, afternoon, and evening to enjoy. These delicious North American and Costa Rican style dishes are made from fresh local produce, regional purveyors, and served buffet style featuring both vegetarian, pescatarian and chicken dishes to dazzle your taste buds and nourish your body. Most diets can be accommodated as long as the kitchen is notified in advance. Complimentary coffee, tea, and filtered water are available throughout the day.

Please Remember, This is Your Retreat!
I encourage you to partake in some of the scheduled guided tours, activities, and Yoga, but more importantly, trust your intuition and simply rest and relax if you like. Whether it's going for a dip in the pool to enjoy a few lazy laps, reading a good book you've been putting off for the right moment, or taking advantage of the on-site Spa which offers an array of massage and body treatments.
The wine and juice bar in the dining hall stocks Costa Rican and Central American beers, sulfite-free, organic wines and bottled water. It is also the place for fresh smoothies, custom-blended chai and organic wheat grass elixirs (made from wheat grass grown in-house).
You can explore the Costa Rican nature by taking a mindful walk and enjoying a bit of photography. The grounds hold dozens of species of orchids and have been certified as a conservation property by the National Ministry of Environmental Ecology.
